This is an important message to all of our customers. We have decided to start selling 10 seeds per pack in stead of the usual 15 seeds per packSome of the reasons behind this decision have to do with the increasing difficulties seed companies face to produce their seeds. Another is that customers do ask us frequently for smaller numbers then 15 seeds. Serious' seeds were also not really expensive if one compared the price/quality with other original seed banks.
Another consideration still was that we think that for one purchase 15 are in fact too many seeds for the vast majority of our customers. 'Too many' in the sense that we found out that most customers do not use the 15 seeds at once, but rather germinate only 5, or half of a pack. The other seeds are shared with, or sold to friends, or germinated later. This 'later' can easily be 1, 2 or more years later.
The original reason to start selling 15 seeds per pack was that (as we saw it back then) this amount gave you a good chance to end up with 5 to 7 good female plants. If 2 or 3 seeds did not germinate and you killed 2 plants by accident that you still had a good chance of having a few good females in the remaining lot. But this is not how most people like to think and act. A not too common (we hope) example; we have received a few complaints that only 3 out of 5 seeds germinated, while the other 10 seeds were still not used!
The prices remain as they were with 15 seeds per pack, causing a rise in the seeds price. Raising prices for the seeds is something we have never done in our existence until now. (Not even when the euro was introduced)
Now the price/quality is more in line with other original seed banks.
Sincerely,
Simon
